Grace embodies the spirit of resilience and passion that drives meaningful change in the society and touches every soul she interacts with. Grace Lilian Murugi shines for their steadfast commitment to empowering people with disabilities. With her own personal connection to disability, Grace exemplifies resilience and passion. Her journey took off when she met Riziki Source through an employment training program at Kilimanjaro Blind Trust Africa, an organization that plays a crucial role in creating opportunities for visually impaired persons throughout the continent.

Grace aligns well within the tales of inclusion by highlighting how personal connections can fuel advocacy and how organizations like Riziki Source contribute significantly to creating accessible opportunities for people with disabilities.

Grace’s narrative is not just about personal success; it also encompasses advocacy and community engagement. Her active participation in organizations dedicated to disability rights underscores her dedication to building a more inclusive society where everyone has the chance to succeed. As we explore her inspiring journey, we see how Grace’s experiences have influenced her mission to assist others with disabilities and drive meaningful change in her community.

Grace’s journey took a pivotal turn when she became a member of the Ajira group, where she further developed her skills through their training programs. During this time, she expressed her creativity and passion for fashion while serving as Miss Kenyatta University. As an influencer, she has collaborated with Google and IN-ABLE—an organization aimed at helping persons with disabilities—allowing her to use technology to make a positive impact. By utilizing Google’s assistive apps, she has unlocked new opportunities for herself and others. 

However, despite her accomplishments, Grace encounters many obstacles, including discrimination and bias against persons with disabilities. She observes that equal opportunities are lacking due to a general unawareness of disability issues among various agencies. This insight inspires her aspiration to establish an agency dedicated entirely to supporting persons with disabilities in the future.  

She aims to raise awareness about persons with disabilities on social media by sharing her personal experiences and advocating for inclusivity. Social media platforms have shown to be effective in promoting disability rights by reaching wide audiences and challenging existing stereotypes. 

Grace commends Riziki Source organization for supporting her in the disability and career walk as its attentive supervisors always ensure she stays engaged despite her disability.  

The all smiley Grace’s final message resonates powerfully: “Let’s stop making disability a side note but the main story.” By amplifying voices like hers through the Riziki Source’s social media platforms and advocacy, we can strive towards a more inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunities and accessible environments.
