Limited access to inclusive skilling and upskilling opportunities prevents youth with disabilities from acquiring market-relevant skills, essential for success in today’s workforce. Additionally, barriers to education and learning resources lead to low admission, retention, and upward mobility rates, which hinder young people with disabilities from securing dignified and fulfilling employment.

Inclusive financial products, services, and infrastructure are also scarce, especially those designed to meet the unique needs of young people with disabilities. This lack of accessible financial resources restricts their ability to achieve financial independence and success.

In workplaces, limited inclusivity prevents young people with disabilities from transitioning smoothly into, sustaining, and advancing in their careers. Likewise, an unsupportive entrepreneurial environment makes it difficult for them to establish, sustain, and grow their own businesses.

A change in negative attitudes and perceptions of communities and employers is essential to drive the social and economic inclusion of persons with disabilities, fostering environments where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive. Furthermore, access to assistive devices remains insufficient, making it challenging for young people with diverse disabilities to participate fully in the world of work.
