The Kenyatta University launched its Career Week 2025, themed “Future Outlook: Careers for Sustainable Development in the Digital Age and Green Economy.” The event saw a diverse attendance, including a representative from the ministry of Labour, students, faculty members, industry professionals, and exhibitors like Riziki Source.
The Vice Chancellor addressed attendees, emphasizing the importance of soft skills, communication skills, and artificial intelligence in the modern job market.
Among the exhibitors was Riziki Source ,an organization that works to bridge the gap between persons with disabilities and the workforce, facilitating workplace diversity, disability inclusion, self-employment and linkages for youth with disabilities in Kenya who have particular skill sets, currently untapped for recruitment as a value proposition for companies, organizations and government formations. Riziki Source showcased resources aimed at enhancing these skills.
The Career Week, running from January 25 to 31, aims to connect students with industry leaders and equip them with the necessary tools to thrive in a competitive job market. This initiative underscores the university’s commitment to preparing students for future challenges.
