Riziki Source’s Inua Biz Initiative Delivers on Promise

In a significant move to foster entrepreneurship and inclusivity, Riziki Source’s Inua Biz program has been at the forefront of empowering persons with disabilities. This initiative is designed to enhance entrepreneurial skills through comprehensive training, mentorship, and access to funding—providing critical support for business growth and development.
The 6th of February will forever remain in the hearts and minds of the businesses that benefited from Riziki Sources’ grants. It marked a significant milestone for the Inua Biz team from Riziki Source as they fulfilled a long-awaited promise to nine groups of businesses, consisting of 21 members. The event was highlighted by the delivery of goods valued at hundreds of thousands of shillings, aimed at supporting these entrepreneurs in launching or boosting their businesses. This initiative is part of Riziki Source’s broader commitment to fostering entrepreneurship skills development and providing business grants, particularly focusing on empowering entrepreneurs with disabilities.
The Inua Biz program is designed to support existing businesses in achieving scale by offering comprehensive support services including training, mentorship, and access to funding. This program is specifically tailored for entrepreneurs with disabilities, providing them with the tools and resources needed to overcome barriers and thrive in their respective businesses.
During the ceremony held on 6th of February, goods worth a substantial financial value were handed over to these business owners. Christabel Nafuna, the Learning and Impact Officer at Riziki Source, emphasized that many of these businesses faced challenges such as accessing markets for their products and lacking essential equipment for transportation. With this support from Inua Biz, Nafuna expressed optimism that significant progress would be made both in terms of business growth and strengthening relationships between the entrepreneurs and Riziki Source.
The event was attended by a representative from the County Commissioner’s office who commended Riziki Source’s efforts in ensuring that businesses run by persons with disabilities are thriving. This recognition highlights not only the impact but also the broader societal benefits of such initiatives, breaking barriers for inclusivity within communities.
Riziki Source’s commitment extends beyond mere financial assistance; it encompasses creating an inclusive ecosystem where all entrepreneurs can flourish regardless of their ability. By focusing on persons with disabilities (PWDs), they address specific challenges faced by this demographic:
- Market Access: Many small-scale producers struggle to reach wider markets due to logistical constraints or lack awareness about market opportunities.
- Equipment Support: Basic equipment like vehicles or machinery can be crucial for transporting goods efficiently but often remains out-of-reach due to cost.
By addressing these gaps through initiatives like Inua Biz, Riziki Source helps bridge critical infrastructure needs while fostering entrepreneurial spirit among marginalized groups.
As more cohorts join programs like Inua Biz, there is growing anticipation about how such targeted interventions will shape local economies over time:
- Entrepreneurial Growth: With specialized training spanning to months alongside continuous mentorship, participants gain not just immediate resources but also long-term capabilities.
- Community Engagement: Events attended by government officials underscore broader societal recognition, a vital step towards mainstreaming inclusivity practices across sectors.
In conclusion, this recent fulfillment marks another step forward in empowering marginalized communities through entrepreneurship—a testament both to Riziki Source’s dedication and its role as a catalyst for change within Kenya’s economic landscape.
Riziki Source is dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship skills development along with providing critical business grants—especially targeting persons who face systemic barriers such as those with disabilities.
