Thomas Lesumug, a passionate watermelon farmer has experienced a transformative journey thanks to his connection with Riziki Source. “Our paths crossed through a WhatsApp group for persons with disabilities, which marked the beginning of an incredible partnership,” he says.

Riziki Source provided him with comprehensive training that not only enhanced his farming skills but also empowered him to mentor others. He proudly guides a group of youths with disabilities who share his passion for watermelon farming.

His biggest challenge was the lack of adequate irrigation systems. The absence of a reliable water pump hindered his ability to ensure consistent watering during dry spells—a critical factor in maintaining healthy crops and maximizing yields.

This challenge was addressed when he benefited from the Inua Biz program through Riziki Source. Riziki provided him with a complete irrigation system tailored to his needs. This support is instrumental in boosting his farm’s productivity and efficiency.

With this new infrastructure in place, he is confident that he will see significant growth and improved crop quality. The enhanced irrigation capabilities allow him to maintain optimal soil moisture levels throughout the year—crucial for achieving high-quality watermelons that meet market demands.

“I highly recommend Riziki Source to anyone seeking support or opportunities in agriculture or entrepreneurship,” he said.
